Route to the World Cup
Ecuador
This will be the fourth time Ecuador have qualified for the World Cup. Their first appearance was in the 2002 World Cup, held jointly in Japan and South Korea. Their most recent World Cup appearance came in 2014 when the tournament was hosted by Brazil, with their best finish being the round of 16 in Germany 2006. Ecuador remains unbeaten in their last four games including a home draw against Argentina in their final World Cup qualifier. Since then, they have played three friendlies beating Nigeria and Cape Verde whilst drawing against Mexico. Keep an eye on their form leading up to the 2022 World Cup as they currently have two warm up friendlies confirmed against Saudi Arabia and Japan in September.
Senegal
The Qatar World Cup 2022 will be the third time Senegal has qualified for the competition. Like Ecuador, Senegal’s first appearance was in Japan and South Korea 2002, where they credibly made their way through to the quarterfinals of the knockout phase. They were knocked out in the group stage last time out in the 2018 World Cup held in Russia. For qualification to the 2022 World Cup, Senegal won their Group remaining unbeaten and overcame Egypt on penalties in a World Cup qualifier. A busy 2022 has also seen them win the African Cup of Nations (AFCON). In the lead up to the World Cup their most important games are qualification matches for the 2023 AFCON. In June they beat Benin and Rwanda and in September they have a two-legged AFCON qualifier against Mozambique.
Senegal and Ecuador have only ever played each other once in a friendly match in 2005 when Senegal won the game 2 – 1.

Conclusion
This game may potentially have something of added value as it could be possible the winning team will qualify for the round of 16. This of course depends on the results from their first two matches. Senegal has plenty of experience and with the attacking threat of Sadio Mane they have won high pressure games and a tournament in 2022. Ecuador also have the goalscoring capabilities of Enner Valencia so this game might have some edge. Here at mr.play we will present a large choice of betting options for each and every World Cup game, so take some time to check them out.
